The mission of the Metropolitan St. Louis Taxicab Commission is
to ensure safe, reliable, high-quality transportation to the citizens
and visitors of the St. Louis area. The Commission is dedicated
to providing fair and equitable authority over the provision of
licensing, regulation, and enforcement of vehicle for hire services
that will contribute to the growth and image of the St. Louis Region.
During the February meeting of the Metropolitan Taxicab Commission. The Commissioners voted unanimously to authorize the Director solicit vendors to conduct the comprehensive study of the vehicle for hire industry in the greater Saint Louis Region. This study will help guide the Commission in it’s mission to determine the need and necessity of the regulated fleets in all classes of vehicles that the MTC permits. Until this survey is complete the Director has declared a Moratorium on accepting applications for CCN’s for Airport Taxi’s, On Call Taxi’s and Premium Sedans.
The Square Credit Card Reader is an approved device of the MTC. CCN Holders must approve use of the device and submit to the Commission documentation of each driver permitted to use the device, as reflected in the Director's rules.
